Acid Reflux Cure. What Is This Stuff About Apples I Hear? ?
I heard of this guy selling a reflux remedy report for 20 bucks online. I know what your thinking. (Don’t spend your money!) Well he talks about apples or a slice of an apple rather,that will eliminate all the symptoms of acid reflux. I work with a GI doctor at the local hospital and I am going to see what insight he can give me. My reflux is getting worse by the week. I have doubled my dose of omeprazole (Prilosec), started taking Pesid Complete AND Rolaids!!! This is driving me nuts. But I really want to know if the apples work so I am going to be the human experiment for all of you to see if this homeopathic idea works and I will see what other info I can scrounge out of my Doc. Good thing you are seeing a doctor. You might have ulcer that requires antibiotics besides anti-acids (anti-histamine as zantac/pepcid or proton-pump inhibitors as Prilosec). That could explain why it is getting worse and not better.
Also, you might have problems with the Pyloric sphincter, and acid is leaking into the esophagus, which in many instances might require surgical intervention.
Advice, don’t waste your money on some apple scam. Try some extra strength Gaviscon or Maalox that will coat the stomach/esophagus and might help with the discomfort.
Avoid acidic foods (pop, tomato), caffiene, and alcohol.
Apples are good for alot of things. Helping with your immune system, adding fiber to your diet, etc. I’ve heard of apple cider vinegar being used for GERD but not sure if its true. Eating apples can only help you .Sounds pretty good. Hopefully it works. Good luck.
I have never heard of apples being used, but I have heard of a home remedy that consisted of 2 or 3 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz water taken before meals that supposedly works.
